24-hour ECG and 24-hour blood pressure measurement

Continuous monitoring of cardiac activity and blood pressure is an essential part of modern medicine. With the help of Holter monitoring (24-hour ECG) and 24-hour blood pressure measurements (ABM), doctors can gain valuable insights into patients’ heart health and blood pressure progression.

What is a HOLTER (24-hour ECG)?

Holter monitoring is a special form of ECG (electrocardiogram) in which heart activity is recorded continuously over a 24-hour period. This examination is particularly useful for recognising irregular heart rhythms (cardiac arrhythmias), which do not always occur during a short ECG.

What is an ABM?

24-hour blood pressure measurement (ABM) is a procedure in which a patient’s blood pressure is measured at regular intervals throughout the day. This enables a detailed analysis of blood pressure trends, both during the day and at night, and helps to diagnose and monitor hypertension (high blood pressure).

Procedure in the CoOrdination

We offer both 24-hour ECG and 24-hour blood pressure measurements. The entire process is patient-friendly and only takes about 15 minutes.

During the appointment at our practice, the Holter or ABM device is applied by our trained staff.

If required, both Holter monitoring and 24-hour blood pressure measurement can be carried out at the same time.

Return and evaluation

The next day, simply bring the device back to our practice or have it delivered by a courier. The data will then be read out and analysed by Doz. Stefan Pfaffenberger analyses the data. Within a week, you will receive a written report either by e-mail or post, depending on your preference. This medical report contains all relevant information and results of the examination, which will help you and your treating doctor to make further medical decisions.
