As a specialist in thoracic surgery, my goal is to provide my patients with the highest level of surgical expertise, the most advanced treatment methods, and personalized care. As the Surgical Director of the Vienna Lung Transplant Program at the Medical University of Vienna, I combine cutting-edge university-level medical care with personalized and easy-to-understand counseling.

My practice focuses on the full spectrum of modern thoracic surgery—from the surgical treatment of lung cancer and other diseases of the lungs, chest, and mediastinum to lung transplantation and complex thoracic surgical procedures. After completing my training at the Medical University of Vienna, I completed a fellowship in thoracic surgery and lung transplantation at the University Health Network in Toronto, one of the world’s leading centers in this field. The experience I gained there is now directly incorporated into the care I provide to my patients.

In addition to my clinical work, I direct the Lung Transplantation Research Laboratory at the Medical University of Vienna and am deeply involved in innovative therapies, organ preservation, transplant immunology, and the development of new treatment strategies. As the author of numerous scientific papers and the director of several international research projects, I am constantly working to quickly translate the latest scientific findings into clinical care.
