In modern cardiac medicine, close cooperation between cardiology and cardiac surgery is crucial for successful treatment.

An outstanding example of this is provided by Prof. Dr. Georg Delle Karth, cardiologist, and Prof. Dr. Martin Grabenwöger, heart surgeon, both of whom work at the Floridsdorf Clinic in Vienna.

Prof. Dr Georg Delle Karth is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology. He is head of the cardiology department at Floridsdorf Hospital and president of the Austrian Society of Cardiology (ÖKG). His main areas of expertise are the treatment of heart failure, coronary heart disease, heart valve disease, high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia. He also heads the Karl Landsteiner Institute for Cardiovascular and Intensive Care Research.

The close cooperation between cardiology and cardiac surgery makes it possible to find the best individual treatment method for each patient. A joint decision is made as to whether a minimally invasive procedure or a more extensive operation is necessary. This interdisciplinary collaboration ensures that patients receive the best possible treatment.

Through their joint work and exchange of expertise, Prof. Delle Karth and Prof. Grabenwöger are making a significant contribution to the advancement of cardiac medicine and setting new standards in patient care.
